Membership Proposals
MEMBERS wishing to sponsor a new member, or VISITORS wishing to obtain more information about possible membership, should send their contact details including e-mail address in an
to the Secretary/Manager of Pleasington Golf Club.
Membership Procedure
Pleasington Golf Club is of high standing in Lancashire and membership, in common with many private members clubs,is gained through being proposed and seconded by current members of the Club and with additional endorsements from three other members.
There is provision for consideration for membership from a golfer moving into the area who does not know any existing members. They can write in on their own account, providing a letter of recommendation from the Secretary at his or her previous Club or Clubs.
The process starts with a member sending in a letter of introduction proposing a person for a class of membership and progression to membership is via two lists.
The first waiting list is points based and Five-day memberships are offered to those at the top of this list.
The second waiting list includes all of those who have accepted Five-day membership and Full membership will be offered when available in strict order.
The membership committee will review the letter, the date of which forms the basis for the first waiting lists points calculations.
The first waiting list is governed by the following points system.
- A close member of family is an existing member (5 Points)
- A member of another recognised Golf Club (10 Points)
- Holding a Handicap of 3 or less (10 Points)
- Holding a Handicap of 4 or 5 (8 Points)
- Holding a Handicap from 6 to 12 (6 Points)
- Holding a Handicap from 13 to 20 (4 Points)
- Holding a Handicap from 21 to 28 (2 Points)
- Each month spent on the Waiting List (1 Points)
