Mary wins latest 9 Hole Stableford Competition

The latest 9 hole competition was played today in very testing conditions. The course was extremely wet underfoot and although a couple of heavy showers tried to thwart the enthusiasm of the 22 entrants everybody who set out was later accounted for!

The overall best score was Mary McAuley who returned with a tremendous 19 points and was the winner of a very fine bottle of Merlot Rose wine. In second place was Steve Walker who completed the "top 9" holes with 16 points to also win a bottle of wine.

The next competition will be held on Thursday 13th September and booking is already available online. Extra times will be added if the competition continues to be popular and more competitions will be arranged for through the autumn and winter. The cards count towards your handicap for next year so if you are in danger of becoming "inactive" and don't want to be it is a perfect chance to return a competition card in less than 2 hours.
