Pro-Am - Wednesday 29 August
This year’s Pro Am was a great success, with 18 teams entering the event. In total, 72 golfers consisting of 18 professionals and 54 amateurs enjoyed what turned out to be a weather affected event, when play had to be suspended for 35 minutes at 2.00 pm due to thunder, lightning and heavy rain.
When play eventually got back under way, the course had coped very well and there was high praise from all the players about its excellent quality, especially the surfaces of the greens. Our thanks go to the Chairman of Greens and the ground staff for the excellent presentation and condition of the course on the day.
Scores returned on the day turned out to be exceptionally good. In the professional ranks, 3 returned scores over par, the highest being +3, 4 returned scores at level par and 11 returned scores under par with the winning score being returned at 65 -6 by Paul Eales who is now attached to Hillside.
The team scores proved just to be as good with the winning team MELPASS just edging past the SLIPPERY EAGLES with a score of 128 -14 acpo.
