Steve McGlynn of Blackburn Wins the Pleasington Antlers
Steve McGlynn edged to a one shot victory in the Pleasington Antlers and crucial in the final reckoning was the tricky short 16th hole which he birdied twice.
The Blackburn scratch player opened up with 69 to lead by three at the half-way stage before signing off with 72, one-under-par all told, which was just enough to deny Ritchie Blundell.
But the Hillside man, with rounds of 73 and 69, moved into second place in the Mitsushiba Northern Order of Merit, just 15 points behind long time leader James Robinson, from Southport & Ainsdale.

The weather again played its part with the course being badly affected by a severe thunderstorm late the previous evening. This had caused flooding on parts of the course and disrupted some of the competitors practice rounds.
However the green staff worked tirelessly and after delaying the start by just 30 minutes the competition went ahead on a course in immaculate condition.
The competition was won by Corisande Lee of West Lancs golf club with a six under par two round total of 142.

The best score of the day was 68 from Barry Taylor who also led the qualifying at Pleasington in 2008.
The fine weather brought out a large number of spectators and many of them enjoyed watching twice British Amateur champion, Gary Wolstenholme complete his round in 69 strokes.
Of the three Pleasington members taking part Neil Hargreaves secured a reserve spot at Final Qualifying following a 72 but both Jack Brooks and Andy Westwell shot 77.
In closing proceedings Peter Unsworth from the R&A thanked all the Pleasington volunteers that had helped with the staging of Regional Qualifying since 2004. The Captain then presented him with a memento from the club.
